How To Enjoy Dreamscene
with Windows 7

Dreamscene videos bring your desktop to life and was released with
Vista Ultimate in 2007. To enjoy Dreamscene in all its glory on XP, other
versions of Vista and Windows 7, you will need to install
Deskscapes 3 from
Stardock.
Stardock DeskScapes 3 is a program that allows users to have
animated wallpaper on their Windows 7, Vista or XP desktop. It supports
playing video as animated wallpaper, dynamically generated content as
animated wallpaper, and more.

Deskscapes 3 News:
As of 11/13/09:
DeskScapes 3 has now been released for
purchase! Go to
this page to purchase the new version or purchase a version 2 upgrade at
a lower price. If you subscribe to Stardock Object Desktop you can get the
update at no cost.
This weekend, the retail price is on sale
for only $14.95 (normally $19.95!) so be sure to get dreaming on Windows 7.
As of 11/11/09:
Stardock Deskscapes 3 is not yet available
for stand alone purchase, however updated versions of the beta version have
been released and are available to Stardock Object Desktop subscribers or
previous purchasers of Deskscapes 2.
If you are having difficulties getting
Dream Manager to work with Deskscapes 3 or Windows 7, please update it to
the latest version and follow the instructions given:
1. Download the latest update of Dream
Manager and install:
Update
2. If Dream Manager still will not properly open, open Stardock Impulse and
uninstall Deskscapes
3. Restart your computer
4. Re-install Deskscapes in Stardock Impulse
5. If requested, restart your computer
At this point Dream Manager should be fully
functional.
As of 10/16/09:
Windows 7 support for Stardock Deskscapes
is currently in beta testing. The beta version can be downloaded if you are
an active subscriber to Stardock Deskscapes. Otherwise, you will have to
wait until it is released which currently has no estimated date, however
will most likely come quite soon. Most likely the previous version 2 will be
free to upgrade to version 3, however this is not yet guaranteed by
Stardock.
Unfortunately, Microsoft no longer offers
the Dreamscape application as an Ultimate Extra. If you are upgrading from
Windows Vista Ultimate and were previously using the free Ultimate edition,
you will be required to purchase Stardock Deskscapes when the new version is
released to continue the use of dreamscenes. We wish this weren't the case,
however it is unfortunately beyond our control.
Our Dream Manager product is not currently
fully supported, however it has been reported to be working in Windows 7
with the beta of Deskscapes 3 by some people. It is non-operational on some
of our test machines. More information will be posted when an upgrade of
this product becomes available or if it is found not necessary to upgrade.
